Foot/Ankle
Arthrosurface® offers three restoration systems to treat toe pain in the 1st & lesser metatarsals as well as a fusion plate for patients who have more extensive damage to their joint. The HemiCAP® Toe Classic is indicated for the lesser metatarsals and is used to treat diseases such as Freiberg’s. The HemiCAP DF® is indicated for the 1st MTP joint, commonly used to treat stage II & III Hallux Ridgidus while the new ToeMotion™ Modular Toe is indicated for Stage IV Hallux Ridgidus. These toe restorations systems can be performed as hemi or total joint arthroplasties and the inlay technology preserves cartilage and bone so future options are maintained.
The HemiCAP® DF system is available in 4 different curvatures to fit the implant to the patient’s natural anatomy. It also incorporates a dorsal flange to improve roll-off and prevent osteophyte regrowth. The HemiCAP® Toe Classic system has 6 different curvature profiles with no flange required and is indicated for the lesser metatarsals. The ToeMotion Modular Toe combines the dual curved HemiCAP DF® with a new modular tray-style phalangeal implant with a threaded baseplate.
For patients whose injuries are too severe for a HemiCAP® implant, Arthrosurface® has designed the CheckMATE® Arthrodesis Fusion Plate. This system features a low profile, anatomically pre-contoured, super strong anodized plate that combines locking and non-locking screws with an interfragmentary guidance system to give you maximum stability and a rapid installation.
For the correction of hammertoe deformities, Arthrosurface developed the ToeMATE System in 2014. It is a strong, easy to install intramedullary bone screw implant with proven taper lock fixation. It includes a taper lock pin which provides a press fit connection between the two screws with light contact pressure. All implants and instruments provided in a complete, sterile disposable kit.
In 2013, Arthrosurface launched a brand new product designed for fracture fixation known as the Pinit Plate. It is available in a myriad of configurations for osteotomies, fracture fixation, reconstruction or arthrodesis of small bones and joints in the upper and lower extremities.
To treat ankle pain in our International Markets, we offer the Talus HemiCAP® which has 10 convexities and a unique geometry. There are often patients who only have damage to the ridge and dome of the talus (usually medially). The common solutions for this type of defect are a fusion or total ankle replacement after conservative treatments have failed. For localized talar lesions, these options might be considered too aggressive, especially in a young patient. Arthrosurface® designed the Talus HemiCAP® to restore the dome, ridge and medial wall with all three curves/surfaces incorporated into one implant.
If you are a US surgeon who has a patient that might be an appropriate candidate for the Talus HemiCAP®, please visit the Medical Tourism section on the Ankle page. There are two centers, one in Amsterdam, Holland and the other in Porto, Portugal, who will perform the surgery on an individualized basis.
**The Talar Dome system is available in most international markets via CE mark.
